Of Patience

What you do not seem to get
is that I have only one speed: fast.
I want Everything
I do not believe in waiting
and patience is an unknown concept
and every second I spend waiting for you hurts
because you do not understand
that truck that I have been expecting
each time I cross the street with my eyes closed
might hit tomorrow
or today.

I burn like a flame
I consume
and spark anew from the fires of hell
I die every day and am reborn
when you remind me of me.

But I must hope
that I'll be in your arms again some day
and that takes so much painful patience.
